There are several ways you can contribute to this initiative. You can submit data, share photographs of the alien plant species, or simply drop an email to us to join our team.

Submit data

If you want to contribute to ILORA, please organize your data according to the Standards (click HERE).

  • For each variable, the Standards give information that should be entered for each record. These include information on your name and affiliation, valid contact details, name(s) of the species for which the data is being submitted, the 13 variables for which you can submit your data now and detailed information on origin of the data (references).

  • The Standards for all variables are available as a single document in Portable Document Format (PDF). In order to view and print the document in PDF, you will need have a suitable viewer installed on your computer. The first two tables show the 13 variables, the required data structure and data format. The final table holds the detailed information for each variable and exemplifies how the data should be organized following the ILORA standard.

  • Please note that your submitted data will be acknowledged after submission and you will be notified once the data has been processed and included in the database. The data will be associated with your supplied source information and we always encourage users to cite the primary data sources so that you, as a contributor, can get credit and acknowledgment. Your name (and affiliation) will be displayed in the website as ‘Data Contributor’ in due course.

  • We also have variable-specific data submission system.

Send a photo

We also welcome submission of high quality pictures (camera capture/digitized hand drawing) of the alien plant species in India. We may use the picture to display on ILORA website’s homepage along with your name and affiliation. Please note the following details while sending these pictures:

  • The picture should be original, preferably captured in Indian landscape; pictures tagged with any form of copyright will not be accepted. Before publishing on the website, you may need to sign a form declaring that the submitted image is free from any kind of copyright agreement.
